Because of my fine art background, our team was asked to create a birthday card for Rodale employees. The goal was to appeal to everyone in the company, represent Rodale in some fashion, and be fun. This is one of the concepts we presented to the family, with the message inside that read “Have a VAN-tastic birthday!” The van belonged to former CEO Bob Rodale, and was a part of the Rodale story. They didn’t choose this concept, but the Rodale Store liked the illustration so much that they created cards with the artwork and sold them at the store.
